The campaign, launched at Easter and spearheaded by police community support officer Demi Georghiou and school headteacher Keith Cheetham, adopts a voluntary one-way traffic calming system from Moor Lane through to Workhouse Lane and reminds those parking to consider others.

The scheme has gained support from the parish council, the Highways Agency and villagers.

PCSO Georghiou said: “I am really pleased to report that the one-way system is showing great signs of success and we have seen a reduction in inconsiderate parking.

“Parking issues, especially at schools, are always an emotive issue and we thank those who have complied. If local people continue to support each other we can look to see a really positive outcome.”
