Police appeal about hit and run in Lewes

A teenage girl was hit by a car at slow speed outside Boots in Lewes and the driver left the scene without checking on her.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses to the hit and run involving a 17-year-old girl along High Street at 7.24pm on Tuesday (May 20).

The victim was crossing the road outside Boots when the car knocked her over and she suffered minor injuries to her head.

PC Richards Hobbs said: “Fortunately her injuries are minor but it is of concern that the car did not stop and the driver did not check on her.”
