Police appeal after Lancing couple taken to hospital in Copsale collision

Police are appealing for the driver of a silver Audi who may have witnessed an accident in Copsale over the weekend to come forward.

Emergency services were called to an accident on the A24, south of the Southwater Roundabout, at around 4pm on Saturday July 11.

Police said a White Honda Civic, being driven by a 24-year-old man from Horsham, and Daihatsu Sarion, being driven by an 83-year-old man from Lancing, were involved in a collision which caused the Daihatsu to lose control and crash into some trees.

The driver of the Daihatsu and his 80-year-old wife were taken to Worthing Hospital with minor injuries. They were discharged later that day.

Sergeant Alan Spicer from the Sussex and Surrey Roads Policing Unit said: “Thankfully everyone concerned escaped with minor injuries.

“Witnesses suggest that an Audi was in the immediate area just prior to the collision. The driver may be a key witness and I would urge them to come forward so that we can secure their account”.

Anyone with any information is asked to e-mail [email protected] or call 101 quoting serial 1111 of 07/11.
