Police appeal after man dies in Uckfield collision

A 35-year-old Uckfield man died after being hit by a car during the early hours of Saturday morning (November 28).

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred shortly before 1am on Coopers Green Road, north of the town.

The pedestrian died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. A vehicle believed to have been involved was later traced by police to a nearby address.

Officers are keen to talk to anyone who may have seen what happened or who may have information regarding any vehicle or pedestrian near to the location shortly before the collision.

They are asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting Operation Westlake.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and other offences and has been released on bail until February 28 while enquiries continue.
