Police appeal after man dies on tracks near Littlehaven

Police are appealing for information after a man’s body was discovered on the railway line near Littlehaven station.

Anthony Ransom, 22, from Horsham, was found by a young boy at a foot crossing near a play area in Amberley Close, Horsham, on Thursday November 26. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed he died after being hit by a train in the is early hours of the morning.

Officers are now appealing for information to trace Mr Ransom’s final movements.

They are particularly keen to hear from anyone who spoke to or saw Mr Ransom from 7pm onwards on Wednesday November 25.

BTP fatalities investigator Candace Wright said: “While we are satisfied that Anthony’s death is not suspicious we would urge anyone who can help with our enquiries into how he came to be on the railway and his movements leading up to that time to get in touch.

“Understandably, Anthony’s family are devastated by their tragic loss.

“Any information that can help us learn more about Anthony’s movements will greatly assist the investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016, quoting reference 129 of 26/11/2015.
