Police appeal after woman is almost set alight in Bognor

POLICE are appealing for witnesses, following an attempted arson in which a woman was nearly set alight at a house in Nyewood Lane, Bognor.

A plant pot was thrown through a ground floor double glazed window at the property on Tuesday, January 12 at around 8pm hitting a 21-year-old woman who was in the house at the time, on the leg.

The suspect, a white man wearing a light grey hooded top, then poured the contents of a petrol can through the window, causing petrol to cover the woman. He then threw the petrol can across the room and made off on foot.

Witnesses, or anyone who may have seen the suspect running away from the house at the time, or who may have information relating to this incident, are asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 1448, of 12/01.
