Police appeal for witnesses over Horley collision

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision in Horley this morning (Saturday, August 15).

Officers said they were called to Rectory Lane, in Horley, shortly before 8am following reports of an overturned vehicle.

The collision is believed to have occurred shortly after a police pursuit from Sussex Police, officers said.

Police said the Beige Toyota failed to stop close to Gatwick Airport and then crashed on Rectory Lane.

Officers said the driver and passenger have been taken to hospital with injuries not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Rectory Lane remains closed while emergency services are on scene, according to police.

The collision is under investigation and police said they are appealing for witnesses who may have seen anything prior to the crash or have any dashcam footage or further information to get in touch, quoting reference number PR/P20190888.
