Police appealing for help to trace three vans after crash

POLICE are trying to trace the drivers of three vans following an accident in Netherfield last week.
A Ford Transit school minibus, a Skoda taxi and a BMW collided on the B2096 at around 7.15am.

Emergency services were called to the B2096 at around 7.15am on Thursday February 13 following reports of a crash between a silver BMW 318, a green Ford Transit Bede’s school mini-bus and a Skoda Octavia taxi.

Officers would like to hear from the drivers of three vans involved in an overtaking manoeuvre shortly before the collision.

All three drivers involved in the crash were taken to the Conquest Hospital.

The taxi driver, a 64-year-old man from Hastings, suffered cuts, concussion and hand injuries. The BMW driver, a 36-year-old man from Uckfield, and the school mini-bus driver, a 65-year-old man from Westham, sustained abdominal injuries.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

No children were on the mini-bus at the time of the accident.

PC Phillip Edwards, of the Road Policing Unit, Polegate, said: “Anyone who saw the collision or who noticed any of the vehicles involved or other traffic on this stretch of road prior to the collision is asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email [email protected], quoting serial 0164 of 13/2.
