Police blitz on burglary

A POLICE crackdown on burglary is paying off with three more Bexhill arrests.

Two men were arrested and an estimated 4-5,000 worth of property recovered following a burglary at Micro Power electrical shop in Ninfield Road, Sidley, in the early hours of Saturday.

Officers had been patrolling the area as a 'burglary hotspot' and one of the suspects was arrested fleeing the scene.

Another was arrested later that day as a result of enquiries. They were both released on police bail.

On Sunday night a 14-year-old boy was arrested after a burglary at 9.30pm on a house in Ninfield Road. The offenders gained entry by forcing the back door and a bottle of 2p coins was taken from inside.

None of the suspects can be named for legal reasons.

It takes the number of burglary arrests in Bexhill to seven in the last fortnight. The crime is a top priority for police.
