Sussex police and crime commissioner Katy Bourne will question chief constable Giles York at the performance and accountability meeting in Lewes between 1pm and 3pm.

Mrs Bourne said: “We know there is a spike in certain offences – including burglary and drink-driving – over the summer months, which is why I’ll be asking Mr York what preventative police operations are underway to combat this.

“I will also be asking Mr York questions that members of my elders’ and youth commissions have raised following discussions with their peers during their ‘Big Conversation’ consultation. These include tackling elder abuse and procedures relating to police stop and search.”

The meeting will be broadcast live on www.sussex-pcc.gov.uk
