This week, Inspector Nick Bowman who heads up the neighbourhood policing team in Arun, warned drug users to kick their addiction ahead of more, imminent raids.

Insp Bowman said: “We review our intelligence every day and whenever appropriate we will apply to magistrates for search warrants. On this particular day we planned resources to for two such warrants at separate addresses in North Court Close, Rustington.

“During both searches cannabis was seized. Two people, a 38-year-old woman at one address where equipment which could be used for hydroponic cultivation of cannabis, and a 44-year-old man at the other address, were arrested, interviewed and subsequently accepted police cautions for possession of small quantities of cannabis.

“We will be doing more of these warrants in the future, and I urge anyone either using or dealing drugs in this area to think very carefully about their activities. It is just a matter of time before we catch up with you.”
