Chairman Ted Kemp thanked everybody who attended the Bexhill Town Hall meeting, including Katy Bourne, Inspector Anita Turner and vice chairman Derek Pratt from the Sussex Federation for Neighbourhood Watch.

After the chairman gave his report on what he and the committee had been doing over the last few months he handed the floor over to Mrs Bourne who gave a talk on what her position entails on a day-to-day basis and on many other topics.

Many of the questions from the floor were regarding parking in Bexhill.

Mr Kemp reminded everyone at the meeting that, although he agreed with the frustration over parking in Bexhill, Neighbourhood Watch meetings were not for this purpose, as volunteers are there to help the vulnerable to be safe from scams and crime and to be ‘the eyes and ears’ for the Rother policing team to help stop crime before it happens.

After reports from vie-chairman Keith Miller, treasurer Chris Ashford and Inspector Anita Turner for the Rother policing team the chairman reminded everyone of future meeting dates – Friday, May 20, Friday, August 19, and the AGM on Friday, November 18.

The May meeting will include a talk by Penny Beale on domestic abuse after losing her daughter to this.
