Police concerned for missing homeless man who left Brighton hospital

Police are concerned for the welfare of a man who walked out of Accident and Emergency.

Michael John James Wilder, 42, of no fixed address, left the Royal Sussex County Hospital, in Eastern Road, on Friday evening (October 27), said police.

It is believed he was heading towards the city centre.

Michael is described as white, 5ft 7ins, of slim build, and with blue eyes, short ‘untidy’ blond hair and a blond beard.

He has a northern accent and was wearing a navy blue jumper over a white t-shirt.

He was also wearing black trousers and black shoes and was carrying a black rucksack.

Michael has various tattoos on his left and right arms: of note is a skull with horns on his left arm and a Grim Reaper on his right arm. Police say he also has the names Mick (which looks like ‘Duck’) and Emma as tattoos

Michael is currently of no fixed address and is believed to sleeping rough in Brighton city centre.

PC Ben Wellard, of the Brighton and Hove Vulnerability Team, said: “ We are becoming increasingly concerned for Michaels’ welfare and would encourage anyone with any information concerning his whereabouts to get in touch.”
