Police fear for missing girl’s welfare

Sonia Dredger went missing from her home in Westfield last Wednesday (August 22).

The 14-year-old was last seen at 5.10pm after being dropped off by her foster carer in Ore to catch the number 100 bus into Hastings.

Sonia is described as being of mixed race, about 5ft3, of slim build with shoulder length straight black hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a royal blue puffa-style jacket with no sleeves, a white vest top, grey snake skin-design leggings and grey trainers.

Sonia hails from Newham and speaks with a London accent.

Sonia is known to frequent the Hastings amusements, rides and fast food establishments.

Since her disappearance, there have been reported sightings of the teen in the south of the town.

On Wednesday police were busy putting posters up around Hastings in a bid to find the missing girl.

PC Deborah Clark of Sussex Police said: “We are concerned for the welfare of Sonia.

“She has links to the Newham area of East London where she used live, and Hastings.

“If anyone has seen her or knows her whereabouts, contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting 1743 of 22/8.”
