Police flood evacuation warning
POLICE have warned people they may have to evacuate their homes because of flooding.
In the past hour PCSOs have been knocking on doors of homes in low-lying areas of Uckfield and warning people of the potential need for evacuation.
The Highways Agency said Sussex Police would lead the response if there was a flooding emergency in Uckfield.
Uckfield was flooded in 2000 when the Uck burst its banks and again last year (2007) by storm water.
