Police helicopter called to trace men following two collisions in Chichester

One man was arrested and police are seeking another after a van was involved in two collisions in Chichester last night.

Police were called to Stockbridge Road at around 10.20pm after reports a red van had crashed into a wall.

Police said the same van was laster involved in another collision, this time with a car along Selsey Road.

A woman, who was driving the car, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Police said two men then decamped from the vehicle and headed into a nearby field.

The National Police Service helicopter was called to help trace the men along with the Surrey and Sussex Police Dog Unit.

One man was located lying face down in the field. He has been arrested and remains in police custody, officers said.

Police are still looking for the other man.
