The 49-year-old male cyclist, of Littlehampton, was not injured but the man driving the car did not stop and has not reported the crash.

The driver was in a small dark coloured car but no other description of it is available.

Sergeant Phil Badman said: “Although the cyclist was not injured, the driver should have stopped and reported the collision to us as it is an offence not to. We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or who knows the identity of the driver or the vehicle he was in.”

Witnesses can email [email protected] quoting serial 1191 of 05/11 or call 101.
