Police hunt ‘violent criminal’ with connections to Worthing and Shoreham

A POLICE hunt is on for a man described as a “violent criminal”.

Police are seeking 22-year-old Ross Macpherson, formerly of Shoreham, who is wanted for recall to prison for breaching the conditions of his prison licence.

Macpherson was sentenced to five years in a Young Offenders Institute in 2006 for stabbing a then 17-year-old man in the stomach several times in Worthing.

Then, in 2010, he was given a concurrent sentence of 33 months for assaulting two members of staff during his time in custody.

He was released on licence back in April this year and has been managed by Surrey and Sussex Probation Trust, under Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements.

Detective Chief Inspector Pierre Serra, from West Sussex Specialist Investigations, said: “Macpherson is a dangerous and violent individual and we are focusing our resources to try and find him as soon as possible.

“He may be in possession of a bladed weapon and I would therefore urge members of the public to not approach him but call police immediately if they see him.”
