POLICE are hunting a hit and run driver who damaged a telegraph pole and the wall of a property at Three Oaks.

The incident took place at Ivyhouse Lane on Wednesday March 20 between 7.50pm and 8.30pm.

A blue Volkswagen left the road, colliding with a telegraph pole and damaging the wall of a nearby property before leaving the scene.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen a badly damaged Volkswagen in the area around that time.

PC Richard Trundle of the Sussex Road Policing Unit said; “We don’t believe the car, which the debris found at the scene shows to be a Volkswagen, could have driven far after the collision due to the significant damage we found at the scene.

“Anyone who saw this vehicle in the area, or who has noticed fresh damage to a similar vehicle since, is asked to contact Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1448 of 20/3”.

A police spokesman said this week that the car had not yet been found.

Police are also urging people to report anti-social driving.
