Police investigate bag snatch

A TEENAGE boy was forced to hand over a bag he was carrying after aggressive demands from one of two youths he encountered in Chantry Avenue,.

The 17-year-old victim was with another boy at about 9pm on Tuesday, April 19 when the bag snatch occurred. After taking possession, the offender and his friend were seen to run off towards Wrestwood Road. No weapon was used and nobody was hurt in the incident.

The offender was described as white, about 16 years old, of skinny build, 5ft 8ins tall and with dark eyebrows. He was wearing a grey hooded top and dark jogging trousers. There is currently no description of the second boy.

The stolen bag was found later in the driveway of a property about 50 yards away. The contents. mainly the victims’s work clothes, were intact.
