Police investigate ‘stabbing’ at hunt meeting

Police are investigating the alleged stabbing of an anti-hunt demonstrator at a meeting near Crowborough on Saturday (November 14).

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a 51-year-old man was reportedly wounded in the hand.

After being questioned, the suspect was released on bail until December 21 while enquiries continue.

A number of other offences are also being investigated from the meeting at the Eridge Hunt on Saturday morning, including minor assaults, public disorder, theft and criminal damage.

Anyone with information about any of the incidents is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting Operation Rush.
