Elderly women are being advised to avoid going out alone in Seaford following a string of bag snatchings in the town targeting elderly women.

Sergeant Stuart Mullins from Seaford Police said:“It is thought that he may have been loitering in the areas before each robbery so if you have seen him or think you know who it may be please get in touch.

“This type of offence is very rare so we don’t want to alarm residents but for the time being it is worth taking precautions when out and about.

“Our advice to all residents, particularly the elderly, is to be on your guard until this male is caught. Stick to the main roads and if you are an elderly lady try and avoid going out alone.

“If you see anybody suspicious hanging around or think you are being followed call the police emergency number or seek help immediately.”
