Police issue new appeal over A272 crash

A new appeal for witnesses has gone out from police investigating a crash on the A272 near Cowfold on Tuesday in which a man was seriously injured.

Officers, ambulance and fire crews were called to the A272 at 8.55am on September 22 to a crash involving a white van and a sewerage lorry.

Police say they are keen to speak to anyone who drove from Cowfold to Buck Barn crolssroads between 8.40am to 8.50am or who saw the lorry before the collision and may have dash-cam footage.

The van driver - a 22-year-old man - was air-lifted to hospital with serious injuries.

A police spokesman said: “He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

“The lorry driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.”

Sergeant Chris Ambrose added: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed what happened or may have dash-cam footage of either of the vehicles.
