Detectives are appealing for witnesses who may have seen Mr Adam’s white Toyota Hilux, with Environment Agency livery, being towed between Rye and Charing, Kent, late on Saturday night and the early hours of Sunday morning. The van suffered damage to its bumper whilst it was being towed.

DI Hannah Willard said: “This is very fast moving investigation and all possible leads are being followed up. The two arrests yesterday reflect our determination to bring the offenders to justice.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact detectives on 101 quoting Operation Avonside, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
