Police meet Rye residents on Thursday

A few weeks ago the Safer Rother Partnership conducted surveys with residents of Rye’s Ferry Road, Rye.

This Thursday they will be back in Ferry Road between 2pm and 4pm opposite the Granary Club, to speak with residents about what the survey revealed and what they are doing to address those concerns.

Rye Neighbourhood Policing Team will also be offering property marking and crime prevention advice.

The initiative is part of Quality Streets - a partnerhip scheme designed to increase community safety, public satisfaction and confidence.

It is run by the Safer Rother Partnership which includes Rother District Council, Sussex Police, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and other local services.

Sergeant Warren Downs, from Rye Police, said “This is a great opportunity for all Ferry Road residents to meet with local services, talk about local issues and find out, there and then, what is or what can be done about them.

“I’d also like to encourage all local residents to pop along on the day to meet local Officers, get crime prevention advice and take advantage of our free property marking service. Bring along any property, garden equipment, electrical items, bicycles etc you’d like security marked, we can do it for you at the event and give you a free UV pen to mark more items at home”
