Police name pensioner who died in A21 crash

POLICE have named the 74-year-old Hastings man who died following a crash on the A21 at Hurst Green on Tuesday afternoon (April 30).

Robert Leach of St Helens Wood Road is believed to have suffered a medical episode when he was driving a Hyundai car which left the road and collided with a tree at around 12.40pm.

A number of people quickly went to his aid and paramedics arrived shortly after, but sadly he died at the scene.

The road was closed at Station Road northbound and at the Coopers Cross junction with the A229 while rescue and recovery work took place and re-opened at 2.15pm.
