Police offer reward following Lancing bookmakers robbery

Police are offering a £500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who robbed William Hill bookmakers in North Road, Lancing, on Thursday May 5.

Sussex Police said a man went into the premises at around 11am, jumped over the counter and punched the staff member before demanding money, and made off with £400 from the till. No weapons were seen.

The suspect then made off north along North Road and then along Culver Road, according to police.

Police have released this CCTV photo of him. He is white, aged in his 30s, between 5’ 11” and 6’ and was wearing a grey jacket with the hood up.

Detective sergeant Simon Dunn said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the staff member. We want to hear from anyone who saw this robbery or has any information. We are offering £500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.”
