Police officer headbutted
A POLICE officer was headbutted by a man.
Police were called to the Landport Estate, Lewes, to investigate an alleged assault of a 13-year-old boy at around 6.50pm on Monday.
At the scene a man headbutted a police officer.
The officer was able to avoid the worst of the blow but suffered reddening to his face.
A man in Landport Road was arrested and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and a public order offence.
He is due to appear at Lewes Magistrates Court on July 2.
