Police patrols against yobbery

DRUNK and disorderly behaviour and some cases of intimidation of shop staff occurred in an anti-social behaviour hotspot in Bognor Regis in the festive period.

Police community support officer Justina Baker reported that regular police patrols were being staged in the Hawthorn Road area to counter the surge in yobbery.

Some extra security was put in place in key shops in the road as well.

The shops also joined together to relay information about the bad behaviour to each other.

PCSO Baker also pledged that the crackdown on inconsiderate parking in Aldwick Road and Hawthorn Road will continue into 2008.

The targets are inconsiderate drivers who outstay the one-hour limit and cause potential danger to pedestrians.
