A blue Tesco bag thought to belong to Mr Mauger was discovered in Upper Beeding a fortnight ago which sparked a full scale search of the area.

Around 30 members of Sussex Search and Rescue (SusSAR) along with two teams of lowland rescue dogs, police and West Sussex Fire and Rescue officers were involved in the search but no more information was obtained.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “We remain very concerned for Michael.

“It has now been four weeks since he was reported missing and we do not know where he is or where he has been.
