Police respond to 'report of gun shots' in Burpham

Police attended an incident in Burpham yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, August 9) following reports of gun shots.
Residents spoke of their concerns after police allegedly cordoned off roads and a helicopter was heard overhead.
In response, a spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “Police received a report of gun shots heard in Burpham at 2.21pm on Wednesday (August 9).
“It was established that there were no suspicious circumstances and units were stood down around 3.30pm.”
