Police round up sheep in Crawley

Police tried their hand at shepherding after two sheep wandered out of their field and into a road in Crawley.

Officers were called to Ifield Avenue, Ifield, at 2.26pm on Sunday (January 5) after reports the animals were causing traffic delays.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “Officers followed the sheep into Bonnets Lane and were able to corral them safely in a gated field by Stafford House.

“The situation was resolved within half-an-hour.”

If anyone has any pictures of the incident, we’d love to see them. They can be sent to the newsdesk.
