Police seek Littlehampton hit and run driver

AN ELDERLY man is in hospital, after being knocked off his mobility scooter in a hit and run crash.

Motorists noticed the man, clearly injured, in the middle of Franciscan Way at about 8.30am today (Thursday, April 21), on the pedestrian crossing by Somerfield.

PC Steve Butcher, of Chichester road policing unit, said: “We are looking for a small, grey/silver car, mist probably with some damage on the front.”

He added that blue paint from the scooter may have been transferred to the car.

The man suffered head neck and back injuries in the crash.

Traffic travelling from the west is currently being diverted via Anchor Springs.
