Officers said two men were walking at Seven Dials at around 7pm on Friday, January 20, when a man in a taxi shouted ‘hey lads’ out of the window.

He then reportedly leant out and spat at them, his spit landing on one of the men. The suspect laughed as the taxi continued driving.

PC Russ Watson said: “We now have images from the taxi of the man we believe may be connected to this incident. The incident was completely unprovoked as the two men were walking and didn’t recognise the suspect at all.

“He is described as in his 30s, balding or had a shaved head, light facial hair.”

Police have asked anyone who saw what happened or who recognise this man to contact them here quoting serial 271 of 21/01.
