Police seek witnesses following sex assault allegation

Inspector James Scott of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing team said a man has been arrested on suspicion of serious sexual assault against a young woman following an incident in the street outside The York in London Road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Criminals are again targeting older, more vulnerable vehicles in Bexhill.

Police investigating attempts to steal three vehicles on Sunday night are appealing for anyone with information to contact Bexhill police station on 0845 6070999.

Vehicles were tampered with in Springfield Road, St George's Road and Manor Road. In each case attempts had been made to start the vehicles after moving them about 100 yards from their parking places.

Inspector James Scott of the Bexhill Neighbourhood Policing Team said each of the vehicles was H-registered and therefore less resistant to "hot-wiring" the ignition system than the current generation.
