Police seek witnesses to daytime burglary in Durrington

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after valuable jewellery was stolen from a home in Durrington.

Intruders broke a window at a house in Wear Road, between 11am and 3.30pm, on Wednesday. When the victims returned they found their home had been searched and electrical items, expensive jewellery, shoes and bags had been stolen.

The electrical items include an ACER laptop, a Kindle Fire HDX, a Kindle Fire HD, a Kindle Paperwhite, an Apple iPad 3, a red Nintendo DS and a pink Nintendo 3DS.

The jewellery includes a gold ring with the victim’s initials on it, a silver Oyster Perpetual Rolex, a jewellery box with an elephant on the lid and Chanel earrings, as well as gold and silver rings, chains and earrings.

Other items that were taken include grey Gucci driving shoes, brown Guess trainers, a G classic design Gucci bag and a Bogdan meerkat toy.

Detective Constable Sarah Thurgood said: “We believe the burglars took the items away in pillowcases they had also stolen from the house.

“Some of these items belong to a young child at the address and I would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in Wear Road, anyone who has been offered any of these items or anyone who has information, to contact us.”
