Police seize cannabis in Littlehampton raid

A POLICE raid found 125g of cannabis at a Littlehampton home.

A 38-year-old man was arrested, and has since been released on bail, in connection with the haul, which was seized from a house in Elspring Mead last Friday.

Sgt Peter Allan of the Littlehampton neighbourhood policing team said: “I am pleased with the success of this warrant. I want this to be a strong message to those who deal in illegal drugs, that we will work with communities and partners to target you and your activities.

“I also want to send out a message to our communities, that we constantly review and assess information that we receive, and deliver robust action where there is sufficient intelligence. That action goes beyond the consideration of criminal charges; as we work with colleagues and partners to investigate the financial background and tenancy arrangements of suspects.”

The man was bailed until November 2, while some 185g of suspected illegal drugs, including the cannabis, are analysed.

A 20-year-old man, who was at the house at the time of the raid and found to be carrying a small amount of the drug, was given a cannabis warning.
