Police set up knife amnesty

HAILSHAM Police will engage in a three week knife amnesty programme from September 24 to October 19.

The police-led project follows the murder of Hailsham dad Darren Croxton who died from stab wounds after an altercation in some woodland, as reported in the Sussex Express, earlier this year.

Police officers will be focusing on educating young people about the dangers of carrying knives and hold an amnesty.

An enforcement will also be carried out by police involving evening patrols between 6pm and 12am midnight during the programme on October 18 and 19.
