Chief Inspector Steve Brookman, said: "The noise and disruption caused by raves can be very distressing for local residents. We will target the organisers of these raves and make it as difficult as possible for them to set up anywhere in East Sussex."

"We aim to provide an immediate response to prevent any illegal raves taking place. If we can get early notification we have a far better chance of preventing the rave from starting. We need residents and land owners in the rural areas to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately."

Members of the public are asked to be on the look out for large numbers of lorries or vehicles gathering near woods or rural car parks, fliers advertising raves and broken padlocks on access gates to areas where a rave may take place. Anyone with any information about an illegal rave should contact the police immediatly.
