Police warn residents after Littlehampton burglaries

Police said the 42-year-old from Worthing has been questioned about the offences in East Preston and Rustington, and released on bail until December 21.

Police are repeating advice to people in the East Preston, Angmering and Rustington area to pay particular attention to security.

It follows an ongoing series of break-ins to homes, outbuildings and vehicles in which the main target has been cash and mobile phones.

Six out of seven incidents reported in the past three weeks have been overnight, and in four of those premises were insecure.

Detective Constable Jon Berisford said: “There is no undue cause for alarm, but people can help themselves and us in several ways. And be alert to any suspicious activity. If a crime is thought to be in progress, phone 999 and let us know without delay.

“If anything unusual has been noticed, or suspicions not yet reported, please email [email protected] or phone 101.”
