Police warning over distraction burglaries

POLICE have warned residents about bogus callers, after a man tried to con his way into a Littlehampton home.

At about 11am on Saturday, a man went to a house in Chapel Close, Wick, and told the 82-year-old resident that he needed to check the water supply.

The victim refused to let him in, and he walked off towards Tesco, but about an hour later a man with a similar description was let into a house of an 81-year-old in Durrington, and stole a large amount of cash from her bedroom.
