“It was great to see so many residents at the fair engaging with the services and advice available.

“Worthing and Adur has a fantastic wealth of great voluntary organisations and it was excellent to have them all in the same place offering such invaluable advice and information to resident.”

A whole host of groups signed up for a stall at the event.

Organisations included: Age UK; Alzheimer’s Society; Action for Deafness; Freedom Powerchairs; Guild Care; Independent Age; Worthing Coaches; Parkinsons UK; Western Sussex Hospitals; Worthing U3A; Worthing Homes and many more.

The event was attended by Worthing mayor Paul Baker, as well as Adur District Council chairman Joss Loader who said: “It was a really interesting and well planned event which promoted a wide range of relevant support services.

“It was particularly heart warming to see the role played by volunteers who form the backbone of many services that are provided locally to older people.

“My very sincere thanks for all their hard work, passion and commitment.”
