Proposals have been put forward to bring in a 50mph limit on the B2036 London Road, north of Balcombe, near the junction with Handcross Road to a point 260metres north of its junction with the B2110 Paddockhurst Road.

West Sussex County Council order would also introduce a 50mph limit on Paddockhurst Road itself for a distance of 136 metres from the London Road junction.

Residents and the county councillor for the Balcombe area have raised concerns about the speed of traffic using London Road. WSCC says sight lines for traffic are not ideal and there is a history of collisions at the junction.

Details can be viewed on the WSCC website at www.westsussex.gov.uk/tro where there is a response form for comments or objections. The documents can also be seen at Haywards Heath Library. Responses must be received before April 4.
