Chance for Arun residents to vote for commissioner on its way

The chance to decide who will govern the area’s police force will soon be upon you.

Poll cards and information booklets about next month’s election for the county’s Police and Crime Commission are being posted in homes across Arun.

The cards can be used on the election day, on Thursday, November 15.

If residents haven’t received one by tomorrow, then they are urged to contact Arun District Council’s helpline on 01903 737616. The deadline for registering to vote for these elections is October 31.

Anybody who wants to apply for a postal vote for these elections needs to have sent in their application by 5pm on October 31.  Arun’s helpline can offer assistance and more information on this.

Arundel’s district council representative, Paul Dendle, announced at the start of the year, his intention to run for the role but was rejected as the Conservative Party candidate. Katy Elizabeth Bourne is running for the position for the Conservatives. Others vying for the role include Labour’s Godfrey Daniel, Liberal Democrat’s David Rogers, Tony Armstrong of UKIP and Independent Ian Chisnall.
