The Southern Rail’s Performance in Severe Weather Working Group due to meet yesterday (Wednesday) was postponed.

Dr Holmes said: “I’m concerned that so many important meetings are being cancelled. It’s ridiculous.

“Personnel committee is about the staff terms and conditions. It’s frustrating that things that need to be done in council are not moving forward smoothly and efficiently.”

But leader of the council Ray Dawe said in each case there was a legitimate reason for cancelling the meeting. “There did not seem any point in holding a meeting where there is nothing to discuss.”
