Conservatives take Uckfield from Lib Dems

In Uckfield, LibDem County Councillor Paul Sparks relinquished his hold on the seat coming a close second to the Conservative candidate Claire Dowling who polled 928 votes (32.3 per cent) to take the seat.

Cllr Sparks polled 880 votes (30.7 per cent.) UKIP’s Mike Mayo came third with 764 votes (26.6 per cent) and Christopher Horlock fourth for the Labour party with 298 votes (10.4 per cent.)

Cllr Sparks’ polled 2580 votes (88.5 per cent) in the 2009 County Council election.
