Voters went to the polls to elect their Members of the European Parliament yesterday (May 24).

The County Times was contacted by a Southwater resident who said she had not received her polling card and was concerned she would not be able to vote.

She said she was not the only person and it was not the first time this had happened.

A spokesperson for Horsham District Council said: “We are aware that some residents haven’t received their poll cards this year and duplicate cards have been posted to voters in the affected areas. However, people are still able to vote without their poll cards.

“In the meantime, we are looking into why some voters didn’t receive their cards this year. We haven’t been made aware of a problem in previous years.”
