Angmering Parish Council has objected due to the village’s infrastructure being inadequate to support the proposed development, concerns about foul and surface water drainage as well as resulting traffic congestion and road safety issues,

The council has also received 103 letters of objection with many raising concerns about the suitability of Dappers Lane, the strain on village services and the impact on neighbouring properties.

According to Arun planning officers the site forms part of the Angmering North strategic site allocated for 800 homes in Arun’s local plan.

Officers concluded: “The development will make a significant contribution towards market housing and affordable housing in the District, further boosting the sustainability of Angmering and provide additional open space for the local community; and contribute to the delivery of strategic highway improvements to the A27/The Causeway roundabout at Arundel, and either the A280/A27/Long Furlong junction or the A259 junctions (i.e. A259/Station Road Roundabout or A259/A280 Roundabout).”
