A similar application for the site off Yapton Road, Middleton-on-Sea, was refused in February– a decision which has been appealed by applicant Frontier Estates.

The resubmitted plans, which have attracted more than 130 objections, will be considered by the development control committee on Wednesday (December 2).

Many of the concerns raised by objectors echo those from the last application – overdevelopment, the risk of damage to protected trees and the plans being out of character with the area.

A report to the meeting said the two-storey ‘L’-shaped home would cater mainly to people with an average age of 85-90. It will include parking for 29 cars.

The development control meeting will start at 2.30pm. Log on to www.arun.gov.uk for a link to the webcast and agenda.
