16.46: It’s all gone a bit quiet from across the county. With only Wealden announcing county council results, you can bet the next couple of hours will be extremely busy.

16.21: It’s not an Eastbourne result but the Greens have gained a seat on the northern edge of Wealden with Georgia Taylor elected to represent Forest Row and Groombridge.

16.07: IND DEM HOLD Polegate and Watermill. Adrienne Hall (Green) 154, Olivia Honeyman (Liberal Democrat) 167, Paul Hunt (Labour) 231, Chris Primett (Conservative) 986, Daniel Shing (Independent) 1825 - ELECTED.

15.58: We’re hearing the first results from Eastbourne aren’t too far away.

15.52: LDEM GAIN FROM CON Hailsam Market has been taken by Lib Dems. Steve Murphy comfortably ahead of the Conservative candidate.

15.48: A CON HOLD in Wealden’s Pevensey and Stone Cross. Mark Fairweather (Liberal Democrat) 709, Tom Liddiard (Conservative) 1212 (ELECTED), Mike Pursglove (Ukip) 203and Robert Slater (Independent) 293.

15.35: So far we’ve only had a couple of results over in Wealden, but no others elsewhere.

15.04: If any party wants a majority on the county council the number they are aiming for is 26 (out of 50). Last time the Conservatives took 30, so all they have to do to retain control at County Hall all they have to do is hold on to most of their seats.

14.52: East Sussex County Council’s website has a handy interactive map which will be updated with the results as they come in. It’s currently blank with no announcements yet.

14:40: Trevor Scott, Wealden’s chief executive, has tweeted: “Counting well underway for the #Wealden @EastSussexCC County divisions. First results will be announced shortly.”

13:56: East Sussex County Council has tweeted: “Due to fewer staff and social distancing, the counts will take longer than usual.”

Mid-afternoon would be a sensible estimate for the announcement of the first county council results.

12:34: At the last county council election in 2017 all the Eastbourne seats stayed in the hands of the same parties. Overall the Conservatives increased their number of seats at County Hall, mostly at the expense of UKIP.

Going into election day yesterday, the Tories are by far the largest party at East Sussex County Council, followed by the Lib Dems and then Labour.
